 | | Out of memory when downloading CEL file annotations | | | Question | | | I get an out of memory error when downloading some cel file annotations. What is the problem, and what can I do about it? | | Answer | Some CEL file annotations consists of very very long descriptions, and on a 32 bit computer this will cause the application to exceed the amount of allowed memory allocation (normally 2 GB RAM).
Suggested workarounds:
1. Use a 64 bit computer.
2. When prompted to select which annotations to download, avoid the ones most likely to contain the long strings, e.g. the GO annotations, and/or limit the total number of downloaded annotations.
