| Question | |
| Is there a standard way to identify which genes (variables) are important for each principal component in a PCA plot? |
| Answer |
The importance of a given variable for a given PCA component is determined by the 'variable loadings' for that component. The higher the loading of a variable for the component, the more that variable contributes.
The variable loadings can be exported together with the sample coordinates for an active PCA plot via File->Export->PCA Components. |
