First a brief background: When your organization has set up a so called floating license solution for Qlucore it provides several types of flexibility. First of all many users can share the available licenses, you can be as many users you prefer and it is only the number of concurrent users that is limited by the purchased number of seats. To access a floating license, connection to the server where your organization has installed the Qlucore license server is required. It can be either direct within the network or through VPN, all depending on your physical location and your organizations IT policy.
If you have the need to work in a location where you cannot access the network of you organization there is the "Borrow" option. To use the Borrow function you first have to be connected to the network. Then you select the license menu and the Borrow option in Qlucore Omics Explorer. The effect will be that you borrow one of the floating license seats and store it locally on your computer. You can then disconnect from the network and work with Qlucore Omics Explorer without having access to the network.
When you are back with network access you return the license gain by selecting Return from the license menu. |
